We went to DC to spend the day this morning. We went to Lincoln’s Cottage, had lunch at a soul food joint called the Hitching Post, and then stopped by the National Shrine on the way back. We had a good time on a beautiful day. Some rather amusing snippets from the kids:
- Daddy to Alexander, “You don’t need to bring anything other than that handsome face.” Alexander acts as though he’s removing a mask and exclaims, “I don’t want to bring my handsome face!”
- After touring the Lincoln Cottage and learning quite a bit, Sophia kept asking me about Barry Lincoln.
- 10 minutes into our tour of the National Basilica, Sophia leans over to me and says, “I think Jesus was born here.”
